Techno has recently introduced its new phone in India at the price of Rs. 11,499 Techno Camon i Twin. The smartphone is available for sale in Midnight Black and Gold Color variants. The phone’s specialty is its full view display and dual rear camera setup. However, these features have become commonplace in budget smartphones nowadays. The big question here is will this phone be able to compete with the budget smartphones of Asus and Xiaomi available in the market?
Design and Display:
6 inch Full View HD Plus display is provided in the Techno Camon i Twin. Its screen resolution is 1440 × 720 pixels. It has an aspect ratio of 18: 8. The phone has been given a plastic body. The phone has a bit slippers from the backside. MicroSD card can be used with dual SIM in the phone. The viewing angles of the display are good and Colors is also sharp. The brightness level of the screen is also correct. With the full view display of the phone, if the screen was given in full HD Plus resolution then this prize range could be called a good deal.
Hardware and Software:
Speaking of hardware, the device has 3 GB of RAM and 32GB of storage with Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425. The phone’s storage can be increased up to 128GB with the help of a MicroSD card. In the case of performance, this phone will not disappoint you in average use. You will not even have difficulty playing Light Weight Games. If the phone offers a better processor then it would be a better option. Still, the phone performance in this budget range is fine. The phone comes with fingerprint sensor as well as face unlock feature. Its Face Unlock feature will greatly affect users. This feature works quite fast. Earphones are also provided in the box along with the phone. Earphones are good in looks but their sound quality disappoints. The phone works on the latest Android 8.0 operating system. Its OS gestures also support.
Like other budget smartphones this phone also comes with dual rear camera setup. The phone has 13MP primary f / 2.0 aperture and 2MP secondary camera with LED flash. The phone has 13MP front camera for selfie. Both cameras can do 1080p video recording. Camera UI is easy and has HDR, panorama, portrait modes and so on. Bokeh effect pictures can be taken from portrait mode. The AI Beauty mode has been given in the front camera. In daylight, the camera takes good image. But the camera at low light or indoor disappointments. Pixels of pictures taken inside can be seen smashing. Better selfie can be clicked with the front camera. Overall performance of the camera is average.
A large battery of 4,000 mAh is given in the phone. The smartphone runs up to 1.5 days in average usage. It takes approximately 2.5 hours for the phone to be fully charged.
An attempt has been made to make the phone full package with full view display, dual rear camera, big battery and latest operating system at the price of Rs. 11,499. This can prove to be a good option in the budget smartphone category. However, it can not be called best in this category. In the collision of this smartphone with average performance, camera and design, Oppo Realme 1, Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 are offering better deals in the same price in the market.
