Reliance Jio company’s next 4G feature phone Jio Phone 2 has been launched. This 4G feature phone has been introduced as an upgraded version of the old Jio Phone. Price and availability
Jio Phone was launched last year at Reliance Industries’ AGM Meetings. At the launch, it was called ‘India’s Smartphone’. It was launched at a price of Rs. 1,500 and it can now be purchased from any retail store or Jio store besides My Jio app. You can also buy this phone from e-commerce sites.
Talking about Jio Phone 2, this phone will be available for sale from August 15th. The price of this phone is Rs. 2,999. Apart from this, you can book this phone from Jio Store or My Jio App. You can exchange your old feature phone in Jio Phone through the Jio Monsoon Hungama offer starting July 21. You will have to deposit Rs. 501.
Design and display
Both phones have a 2.4 inch QVGA display. In the Jio Phone, the normal number pad is given, while the Jio Phone 2 has QWERTY keypad. To some extent, Jio Phone 2 reminds you of the Blackberry and the old Nokia E-series. Apart from this, company has given the revolving navigation in the middle in both the phones.
Connectivity and other features
Talking to Jio Phone, this phone supports single 4G SIM, while Jio Phone 2 supports dual SIM. However, it is not clear that will it support another network SIM in slot 2. Both phones have 4G VoLTE, FM radio, Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi features. In Jio Phone 2 you will also be able to access Facebook, Youtube and WhatsApp, which are not given in old Jio phone.
Talking about RAM and processors, both phones have 512 MB RAM and 4 GB internal memory. At the same time, talk about the camera, both phones have a VGA front camera and a 2 megapixel rear camera. Talking about the battery, both phones have a 2,000 mAh battery. Both phones support KaiOS.
